    Acceptance Insurance has an immediate opening for a Field Underwriting Support Advisor at our Nashville Corportate Office. As a Field Underwriting Support Advisor, you will be part of a team of professionals task with guiding and advising our Retail Insurance Agents and Customer Service Representatives through our underwriting processes, procedures and guidelines as needed to complete a new policy or update an existing policy.

     

    Position Overview:

    Answer incoming phone calls and emails in an efficient and professional manner from insurance agents and customer service representatives related to sharing knowledge on underwriting practices, reinforcing adherence to guidelines and regulations, providing technical support in processing applications and endorsements, and bringing about resolutions to customer escalations.

    Company Overview:

    We are principally a retailer, servicer and underwriter of non-standard personal automobile insurance based in Nashville, Tennessee. Our insurance operations actively generate revenues from selling non-standard personal automobile insurance policies and related products in 16 states. We currently conduct our servicing and underwriting operations in 13 states and are licensed as an insurer in 13 additional states.

     

    At March 31, 2017, we leased and operated 355 retail locations and a call center staffed with employee-agents. Our employee agents primarily sell non-standard personal automobile insurance products underwritten by us, as well as certain commissionable ancillary products. In most states, our employee-agents also sell a complementary insurance product providing personal property and liability coverage for renters underwritten by us. In addition, retail locations in some markets offer non-standard personal automobile insurance serviced and underwritten by other third-party insurance carriers for which we receive a commission. In addition to our retail locations, we are able to complete the entire sales process over the phone via our call center or through the internet via our consumer-based website or mobile platform. On a limited basis, we also sell our products through selected retail locations operated by independent agents.

    Responsibilities

     A Field Support Advisor will:

    • Efficiently answer incoming phone calls and emails from agents/CSRs
    • Provide agents/CSRs with timely and correct product and service information
    • Guide complaint resolution to ensure that proper and satisfactory closing are obtained following established underwriting guidelines and regulations
    • Complete assigned phone and email workload
    • Follow up on agent inquires to reach a resolution
    • Process policy change request and assist with billing inquiries
    • Guide agents in procedure training and educate on new changes to underwriting practices
    • Enforcing written company guidelines and ensure compliance with regulations
    • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

     The desired candidate will have:

    • Two years of customer service or sales experience required
    • Two years of experience working within the MOCHA system required
    • Working knowledge of Acceptance company guidelines, billing structure and underwriting regulations.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
    • Ability to build rapport, solve problems, and work collaborate with others to reach a resolution
    • High school diploma or general equivalency degree G.E.D. required.
    • Basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills are required. 
    • Computer literate with the ability to learn software applications. 
    • Job involves sitting, with structured time schedule, working in front of a computer screen
