    Job Summary:

    As part of the Training & Development Team, the Instructional Designer designs, develops and delivers instructionally sound e-learning modules, instructor-led courses, user guides, job aids, and other training resources for internal clients on a variety of topics. The Instructional Designer will also design and implement performance support solutions by working closely with subject matter experts from across the organization. In addition to creating new content, they will also maintain and update and improve existing content.

     

    This is a full time in-house Instructional Designer position for our corporate office located in Nashville, TN (Green Hills area).

     

    Work Hours: 

    Monday - Friday 8am -5pm

    Company Overview:

    We are principally a retailer, servicer and underwriter of non-standard personal automobile insurance based in Nashville, Tennessee. Our insurance operations actively generate revenues from selling non-standard personal automobile insurance policies and related products in 15 states. We currently conduct our servicing and underwriting operations in 13 states and are licensed as an insurer in 13 additional states.

     

    Acceptance Insurance leased and operated 349 retail locations and a call center staffed with employee-agents. Our employee agents primarily sell non-standard personal automobile insurance products underwritten by us, as well as certain commissionable ancillary products. In most states, our employee-agents also sell a complementary insurance product providing personal property and liability coverage for renters underwritten by us. In addition, retail locations in some markets offer non-standard personal automobile insurance serviced and underwritten by other third-party insurance carriers for which we receive a commission. In addition to our retail locations, we are able to complete the entire sales process over the phone via our call center or through the internet via our consumer-based website or mobile platform. On a limited basis, we also sell our products through selected retail locations operated by independent agents.

    Responsibilities

    • Utilize instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate instructional materials and programs
    • Work with internal subject matter experts in Sales, Underwriting, Claims, and Corporate functions to design, develop and implement solutions that drive performance and are consistent with internal standards and best practices
    • Design and develop internally branded course curriculum guides for courses and/or program components
    • Build templates and coaching tools supporting products and processes.
    • Recommend and integrate performance improvement strategies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    • Ability to learn and effectively use eLearning software such as Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite.  SharePoint and HTML a plus.
    • Ability to apply Adult Learning Theory to instructional design and development methodologies
    • Ability & desire to learn multiple systems and processes quickly
    • Demonstrate Project Management skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under time pressure
    • Ability to build and manage multiple partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
    • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills are needed in order to communicate with partners and students.
    • Willingness to periodically extend workday / work week to meet defined timelines.

    Years of Experience Requirements

    • 3 years in instructional design/development or degree in instructional design or adult learning theory.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in instructional design/development
